Thomas Mitchell

Australian Explorers series presents Major Thomas Mitchell. (1792-1855) was a surveyor and explorer of South Eastern Australia. He was appointed Surveyor General for his contributions. Major Mitchell’s Cockatoo and the Mitchell River in Queensland were named after him.
